I sprayed spray adhesive to the back of the stencil to hold it in place and then used Dixie Belle’s Fluff to fill it in using a small brush. Once the blue was dry, I pulled out a starfish stencil I had in my stash and started adding a few to the seat: Then I brushed on just ONE coat of Dixie Belle’s Dusty Blue. (Primer is NOT necessary when using chalk paint.) You’ll see why I wanted a base of white in a minute. Paintīefore painting this chair, I hit it with a coat of Rustoleum spray primer just to get a quick coat of white on it. If I have smaller pieces, I’ll clean a couple of things while I have it mixed up. The directions say to mix two TBSP into a gallon of warm water, but I half that, mixing one TBSP into a half gallon of warm water.
